Aaron Rodgers ‘loved every minute’ of Jets win over Broncos after Sean Payton’s ‘horses—‘ comments

0

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh played down the narrative that his team had Sean Payton’s preseason comments on their mind – but it is pretty apparent they did.

The now Denver Broncos head coach said during the preseason that Nathaniel Hackett’s coaching job with the Broncos last year was one of the worst in NFL history. Hackett is now the Jets’ offensive coordinator.

Before the Jets and Broncos battled on Sunday, C.J. Uzomah made a fiery pregame speech where he reminded his teammates that Payton made the game “personal.”

“Their coach made this s— personal. Well f— him and f— them,” he said. “This ain’t about them. It’s about us getting back on the right track. Let’s win this b—- for Hackett.”

The Jets won, 31-21, and the jabs continued post game.

Aaron Rodgers was not on the field for the victory as he recovers from his torn Achilles, but even he enjoyed the sweet revenge from afar.

“I loved every minute of it,” Rodgers said on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday. “One of the coolest things was watching the end of that game to see how people love Nathaniel so much. Yeah, he’s not going to be making big deal about it, but he’s a man. And those comments were horses— in the beginning of the season, and we all wanted that for him for sure. So, I’m really, really happy for him.

“Awesome for Hack. You see all the love, and we just nonstop hugs. Saleh gave him the game ball afterwards, and [I’m] just really proud of our guys.”

The Jets rallied behind a Breece Hall 72-yard touchdown and a Bryce Hall fumble return for a touchdown. The running back had 177 yards on the ground on 22 carries. Bryce Hall had four tackles to go along with his key score. The Jets outscored the Broncos 23-8 in the second half.

Zach Wilson was 19-for-26 with 199 passing yards and an interception thrown to Patrick Surtain II. Tyler Conklin led the team with four catches for 67 yards.

Shopping under surveillance: How retailers track you & how to be invisible

If you have a pulse and an internet connection, companies want all the details they can get on what you’re willing to buy — and it’s getting harder to tell where they’re getting all that info.

Retailers can now track what customers purchase to influence their buying patterns. Loyalty programs collect data on your purchases, frequency and preferences — in exchange for deals.

Mobile apps take it a step further. If location tracking is enabled, retailers know when you’re in-store — those coupon notifications aren’t a coincidence.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth beacons map where you go. Ever connect to free Wi-Fi in a store? That’s the trade-off. Bluetooth beacons work similarly by pinging your phone’s Bluetooth to document your path within the store.

Point-of-sale systems document purchase histories and often connect them to an email or phone number if provided. Surveillance cameras aren’t just to catch thieves. Some retailers use AI to analyze your shopping behavior and habits.

AI CAN GUESS YOUR PASSWORD WITH UNPRECEDENTED ACCURACY BY ‘LISTENING’ TO KEYSTROKES

Take back your (purchasing) power

Tracking is unavoidable, but there are ways to protect your privacy better. Use these tips to feel less watched:

  • Uninstall retail apps from your phone. If you can’t part with them, disable location permissions.
  • Limit loyalty cards. The fewer you sign up for, the better for your privacy. Most cashiers are willing to let me use theirs. Just be polite!
  • Switch off Bluetooth. This way, you’re not tracked by beacons in stores.
  • Know your rights. If you use a retailer’s website or app, there’s usually a section where you can opt out of specific data collection or sharing methods.
  • Turn off your location history in Google. Under Settings, click Privacy and Security, then Site Settings. Tap Location and click Don’t allow sites to see your location. Be sure to delete any sites that were saved here in the past.
  • Browse in Incognito mode. This keeps your website history from being stored and reported to ad networks.
  • Delete old accounts: JustDelete.me provides direct links to delete your accounts for many online services. You can also see how companies view and handle user data.
  • Use a VPN. This hides your IP address from retailers and works on your phone, too! My pick is ExpressVPN.

And here you thought all you had to worry about was finding a good parking spot. Oh, btw, if you always lose your car, your maps app can keep track of where you parked.

WWE NXT star Tiffany Stratton will be ‘a significant player in the future,’ Paul Heyman says

0

Tiffany Stratton put on a show in her NXT Women’s Championship match against Becky Lynch at the No Mercy premium live event last month, and even in a loss, she appeared to come out on top.

Stratton is just one of the talented competitors in the women’s division who has made great strides over the last year to get to the top and attain the women’s championship.

Paul Heyman told Fox News Digital in a recent interview that some of the women on the main roster should be keeping a close watch on Stratton.

“Tiffany Stratton is someone that Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair and the main roster women better keep their eyes on because she’s another one who, if she continues on this path, is going to be a significant player in the future of this industry and leading the industry into the future,” he said.

“I thought Tiffany Stratton not only held her own in the ring with Becky Lynch, I thought in the promos that she did with Becky Lynch she more than held her own as well. That’s no easy task for someone that hasn’t been on the main roster for a long time, let alone for any time.”

“Tiffany held her own in a very tense situation with Becky Lynch and looked great doing it. And it wasn’t because Becky Lynch knew how to carry her through the segment. It was because Tiffany knew how to present herself, and she did it quite well – very impressive.”

It’s unclear what’s next for Stratton after Lynch. But she will definitely become a main player sooner rather than later and will earn star power on whichever brand she winds up.

Bitstamp’s departure from Canada is ‘timing issue,’ says CEO

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp hopes to return to Canada after halting operations early next year, according to Bitstamp U.S. CEO and global chief commercial officer Bobby Zagotta.

Bitstamp will officially discontinue its services to customers in Canada starting from Jan. 8, 2024, the exchange confirmed in a statement to Cointelegraph.

As a result of the service termination, all Canada accounts on Bitstamp will be closed and customers will no longer have access to their accounts. Bitstamp has strongly recommended its Canadian customers withdraw their funds by January 2024, also urging the clients to deactivate their Bitstamp accounts.

“We want to emphasize that your crypto assets always remain yours, and we are committed to reaching out to any customers who were unable to close their accounts themselves to ensure the return of their funds,” Bitstamp noted.

Bitstamp’s decision to discontinue operations in Canada is “primarily a timing issue” related to the company’s current expansion priorities, Bitstamp U.S. CEO told Cointelegraph. The exchange is exiting the Canadian market to refocus on regions where Bitstamp can align “more effectively” with local regulations, Zagotta said, adding:

“We hope to serve this market in the future; however, at this time, we are unable to prioritize the work and allocate the necessary resources to meet new regulations.”

Zagotta emphasized that Bitstamp remains committed to serving its global user base, and any decisions regarding its presence in specific countries would likely depend on evolving regulatory environments and market conditions.

Bitstamp’s exit from Canada comes amid the exchange reportedly raising funds to scale its global operations. The platform has reportedly been working to secure new capital since May 2023 to launch derivatives trading in Europe in 2024 and expand its services in the United Kingdom.

Founded in 2011, Bitstamp is one of the world’s longest-running cryptocurrency exchanges. According to the Bitstamp website, the platform serves a large number of countries at the time of writing, including the United States, Singapore, South Korea, Japan and others.

According to data from CoinGecko, Bistamp’s daily trading volumes amount to roughly $114 million at publishing time. The volumes are significantly lower than volumes reported by major competitors like Binance, which trades nearly $4 billion per day, according to CoinGecko.
