Are Americans ready for Biden 2.0?

That’s what the country will get if they elect Kamala Harris president in 2028. During last year’s campaign, the former VP didn’t even pretend to offer the country any change of course from the disastrous Biden presidency. Harris notoriously told Sunny Hostin on The View, who asked what she might do differently from President Biden, “There is not a thing that comes to mind.” It was possibly the most boneheaded of all her campaign goofs.

After all, Biden didn’t exactly thrill the country by allowing millions of people to enter the country illegally, adopting an expensive green agenda, embracing DEI in every federal agency or by driving inflation to multi-decade highs with excessive spending. When polling shows voters begging for change – candidates should oblige.

HARRIS DRAWS SOCIAL MEDIA SCORN FOR DIGRESSION ABOUT ELEPHANTS DURING AN EARTHQUAKE

It is astonishing on many fronts that a slight buzz is forming about Kamala Harris’ chances of running again for the Oval Office. It is indeed “slight” so far, audible mainly to campaign consultants hoping to cash in on another multi-billion run and, frankly, to gleeful Republicans who love their chances should Harris receive the Democratic nomination.

Chatter about the former VP and California senator picked up this past week because Harris finally emerged from the witness protection program to make a speech. It was her first public appearance of note in five months.

She appeared before a group supporting Emerge, a non-profit that “provides aspiring [Democrat] women leaders with cutting-edge tools and training to run and win elected office.”   Harris is probably not the most convincing example of Emerge’s effectiveness.

After all, Harris not only lost to Donald Trump, but lost every swing state and the popular vote, despite spending over $2 billion, including monies from Super PACs. Remember that even the widely disliked Hillary Clinton won the popular vote in 2016 by 2.3 million votes. Harris not only lost big but dragged down her party, with Democrats also losing four senate seats, and their majority.

Since Harris was not deemed a successful vice president, earning negative favorability ratings for almost her entire four years in office, and given her poor showing last year, why on earth would anyone even consider giving her a second chance? Only because Democrats are in trouble. The party has no visible leadership now that Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden have retired from view, Barack Obama is invisible and Chuck Schumer is fighting a possible primary challenge from New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Harris, the last credentialed national figure with substantial name recognition, is it. But the party’s woes go beyond lack of leadership. Democrats also have no message and no platform. All they have is hatred of Donald Trump.

At the Emerge gathering, other than a peculiar foray into elephant behavior, Kamala Harris spent her brief appearance lambasting Trump, echoing the refrains and lies popular among his critics. She offered no new policies, no ideas how to make life better for Americans.

This is not a winning formula. For all the breathless reporting on Donald Trump’s failing polls and unpopularity, the president continues to earn higher approval ratings than Democrats. A quite recent CNN/SSRS poll showed that when respondents were asked who would be doing a better job as president, 45 percent chose Trump, while 43 percent chose Harris, about in line with last year’s election results. Further, an ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll from late April, reported that when respondents were asked who they trusted more to deal with the country’s main problems, 40 percent chose Trump while only 32 percent chose Democrats in Congress.

In her Emerge speech, Harris revealed, unknowingly, her party’s essential problem. She mentioned being inspired “by leaders across the spectrum, including congressional leaders, like Cory Booker, Chris Van Hollen, Chris Murphy, Jasmine Crockett, Maxwell Frost, AOC, and Bernie Sanders, all who in different ways, have been speaking with moral clarity about this moment.”

CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINION

Note that the “leaders” cited are the most progressive members of her party. They are not speaking “in different ways” nor are they “across the spectrum”; they all parrot the same far-left tax-the-rich, Big Government nonsense that most Americans abhor. Democrats, including apparently Kamala Harris, are in thrall to the most liberal wing of their party and it will continue to cost them election victories.

Unhappily for Democrats, progressives have a lock on the party’s energy and money. It is AOC and Bernie Sanders who can without embarrassment tour the country via private jet calling out “oligarchs”, echoing earlier speeches made by Bernie Sanders, who warned that billionaires were taking over the country in 1993, 1994, 1995, 2007, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018 and now…again, today. Sanders has been issuing the same dire alarms about oligarchs for decades, and now others have jumped on board.

Elon Musk and other tech CEOs are a threat to our country, according to Sanders and his posse, but only if they support the GOP. Oligarchs like Bill Gates, Mark Cuban or George Soros, who back Democrats, evidently do not pose a threat to the nation.

CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP

Harris is making a mistake tying herself to the far-left wing of her party. Gallup polling consistently shows that only a minority of the country – 25% — considers themselves “liberal” or “very liberal”, while 37% rate themselves “conservative” or very conservative and 34% say they are “moderate”. How do Democrats expect to win elections if only one quarter of the country is ideologically in their corner?

In 2016, Hillary Clinton lost primarily because supporters of Bernie Sanders did not come out to vote for her. In 2020, Joe Biden adopted Bernie’s platform in return for the Vermont Socialist’s support, and he won. But embracing Bernie’s fondness for the Green New Deal, open borders and attacks on the wealthy failed to put Harris over the finish line last year; it won’t push her to a win in 2028 either.

Flight passengers panic as REAL ID deadline arrives with many still awaiting documents by mail

0

The countdown is on. In just one day, Americans will no longer be able to travel with a standard driver’s license as their ID. Instead, they will need a REAL ID, with a gold star showing in the upper right-hand corner.

Travelers will need to show their REAL ID or other forms of acceptable identification on domestic flights starting Wednesday, May 7.

The deadline has sparked panic among many Americans who have been rushing to obtain the new identification before their travels, with some still waiting to receive their REAL IDs in the mail.

Flyers who enrolled for a REAL ID will receive the identification via mail with the times varying by state.

The New York DMV said after passengers apply, they will receive a temporary document and “it takes about 2 weeks for your new Enhanced and REAL ID document to arrive in the mail.”

In California, meanwhile, according to their DMV, “it typically takes 2 to 4 weeks to receive a physical REAL ID card in the mail after applying.”

In the state of Michigan, the identification should arrive in the mail within two to three weeks, according to its DMV site.

Pennsylvania, for its part, said it will mail out a REAL ID within 15 business days if a person enrolls at a DMV; but if a traveler visits a PennDOT REAL ID Center, the person can “be verified in real time, and your REAL ID will be issued [the] same day.”

HIDDEN REAL ID HASSLES FACING AIRLINE TRAVELERS AND STATES TO AVOID

Daniel Velez, a spokesperson for TSA New England, shared advice with Fox News Digital about what passengers should do if they’re still waiting for their REAL IDs.

“Passengers who present a non-compliant state ID along with a state letter or receipt will still be subject to additional screening but should be able to proceed faster than those who only present a state letter or receipt,” said Velez.

He added, “We strongly suggest (even if you have a receipt/letter from the DMV) that passengers bring another form of an acceptable ID such as a U.S. passport in order to proceed through security faster.”

Velez said that if passengers do not have any acceptable ID, TSA “strongly suggest[s] they arrive to the airport 3 hours prior to their departure time.”

“I tried calling, can’t reach a person.”

Other forms of identification that will be accepted in lieu of a REAL ID include a valid U.S. passport or passport card; DHS trusted traveler cards such as Global Entry; Department of Defense IDs; permanent resident cards; and border crossing cards.

REAL ID REJECTION BY AMERICANS MAY COME DOWN TO ONE SURPRISING FACTOR

In the “r/AskChicago” forum on Reddit, one person posted a note with the headline, “What to do if REAL ID is lost in mail.”

The person wrote, “I went in to get my REAL ID driver’s license on April 7, and the tracker on the secretary of state’s website says it was mailed out on the 15th, but I still haven’t received it. I tried calling, can’t reach a person. I tried filling out their online form a few days ago and haven’t gotten any sort of response.”

“It happened to me once. Waited for over a month and nothing showed up in my mail. Went to secretary of state and applied for another replacement, paid the fee,” commented a Redditor.

One user said, “Went in for a corrected license on the 16th and just got it today. I noticed mail is running really slow lately.”

Another person posted in the “r/Charlotte” forum, asking, “Should I be concerned I have yet to receive my REAL ID in the mail? It’s been a month.”

“I went on April 2nd. I have the temporary one they printed at the DMV, but I was just wondering how long it’s taken others to get theirs in the mail before I spend a lot of time making calls trying to track it down,” the person wrote.

Another user commented, “I still can’t believe the deadline is really here after what feels like a decade of talks, lol.”

“I would be concerned.”

Said still another person, “You have a lot more faith in the DMV and USPS to be fast than I do.”

Expert says skull of Hungarian king Matthias Corvinus may have been uncovered

0

A skull was recently discovered at a medieval church – and an expert believes it may belong to a legendary European king.

Emese Gábor, a facial reconstruction specialist and portrait sculptor based in Hungary, spoke with Fox News Digital about the discovery.

The skull was found in the ossuary portion of the Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Székesfehérvár, Hungary. Gábor believes the skull belongs to Matthias Corvinus, who ruled as king of Hungary and Croatia from 1458 to 1490.

ARCHAEOLOGISTS UNCOVER CENTURIES-OLD SHIPWRECK BENEATH HISTORIC CITY: ‘UNIQUE SOURCE OF KNOWLEDGE’

Called Matthias the Just, the medieval king is known for restructuring the Hungarian army and ushering in judicial reforms.

The Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, now an archaeological site, had been the burial site of Hungarian kings for centuries.

The site was raided by the Ottomans in the 16th century before it was destroyed by a fire in 1601.

Gábor told Fox News Digital she found an “exceptionally high degree of morphological similarity” between the unknown skull and the skull of Matthias Corvinus’ son, János Corvinus.

“The greenish discoloration observed on the bone surface likely indicates the presence of a metal crown once worn, which left traces through oxidation.”

“[The skull’s] external characteristics are also of exceptional importance: the greenish discoloration observed on the bone surface likely indicates the presence of a metal crown once worn, which left traces through oxidation,” Gábor said.

The physical features of the skull also match what’s known about Corvinus, down to his age and height, she also noted.

Gábor also created plastic facial reconstructions of the examined skulls in an effort to help visualize the facial features.

Risk of cancer death linked to how much people pay in taxes, study finds

0

People who pay more in taxes could be less likely to die from cancer.

The link was revealed in a new study published in JAMA Network Open, which aimed to explore how state-level tax revenue impacts cancer screenings and mortality in the U.S.

Researchers from The Ohio State University, Emory University in Georgia and the University of Verona in Italy analyzed 1,150 state-years of tax data over a 23-year period, between 1997 and 2019. (A state-year refers to one year of data from one state.)

They also reviewed population-level cancer screening rates and cancer-related deaths from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) databases.

The states with higher tax income were found to have increased cancer screening rates and decreased cancer mortality rates, the researchers found.

For each $1,000 increase in tax revenue per capita, the population had a 1.61% increase in colorectal cancer screening, a 2.17% increase in breast cancer screening and a 0.72% increase in cervical cancer screening rate, the research showed.

ALTERNATIVE CANCER TREATMENT COULD REPLACE CHEMO AND SURGERY, STUDY SUGGESTS

Among those who had cancerous tumors, each $1,000 increase in tax revenue per capita was linked to up to 4% decreased death rates among White patients. The same reduced risk was not found for racial and ethnic minority populations, according to the study.

“State-level tax policy is an underappreciated social determinant of health that may improve cancer screening and mortality rates,” the researchers wrote.

“These findings suggest that state-level tax revenue may serve as one aspect of a multifaceted approach to improve cancer-related outcomes in the U.S. and help bridge cancer care gaps, particularly in more progressive tax policy settings.”

Prior studies have identified tax policy as a predictor of public health, particularly for infant mortality risk and overall healthcare outcomes.

“One possible association could be that the higher your taxes, the more money you would have to buy healthier food and more luxury for relaxation and exercise.”

“Tax revenue may serve as funding that promotes the common good by ensuring access to safe, healthy environments and quality healthcare, while progressive taxes can substantially increase the disposable income of working-class households, thus enhancing their living standards and improving their health and cancer outcomes,” the study stated.

Dr. Marc Siegel, clinical professor of medicine at NYU Langone Health and Fox News senior medical analyst, shared his external reaction to the study.

“One possible association could be that the higher your taxes, the more money you would have to buy healthier food and more luxury for relaxation and exercise,” he told Fox News Digital.

“Having more money to pay for extra treatment, earlier diagnosis and better care can also help prevent cancer death.”

The study did have some limitations, the researchers acknowledged — chiefly that the results show an association but do not prove that the high tax rates caused the decreased mortality.

Cancer screening rates were also based on patient questionnaires, which could have some level of bias.

There is also the possibility of measurement errors in the data, the researchers cautioned.

State of Hawaii may hike its tax on tourists and vacationers for climate change fund

0

A new bill in Hawaii has passed the Senate in The Aloha State to raise the tourist tax in an effort to “reduce climate change.”

Senate Bill 1396 aims to raise the tourist tax on hotels to 11% starting Jan. 1 — and it would then increase to 12% the following year, according to the text of the bill.

Portions of the revenue raised would go into the “Climate Mitigation and Resiliency Special Fund” and the “Economic Development and Revitalization Special Fund,” according to the bill.

Funds to the “Climate Mitigation and Resiliency Special Fund” may be used for projects that mitigate, adapt to or increase resiliency against climate change, along with funding consultants and personnel.

Experts say Hawaii is believed to be the first U.S. state to “undertake such action,” according to Travel Tomorrow.

“The legislature further finds that given the scale and impact of the climate emergency, the state must invest in bold actions to prepare for, mitigate, and adapt to climate change, including resiliency to intensifying natural disasters,” according to the bill’s text.

In August 2023, a fire spread through Lahaina, killing 101 people. The fire was caused by electric equipment damaged by high winds, Fox News Digital reported earlier.

It killed at least 102 people and caused more than $5 billion in damage.

Hawaii already has a 10.25% tax on short-term rentals. Hawaii’s counties each add their own 3% surcharge on top of the state’s tax, according to FOX 13.

“Hawaii already imposes what some believe are high taxes on the hospitality sector and short-term stays,” said Travel Tomorrow.

New legislation in Hawaii would raise tourist tax rates to 11% by next year, generating revenue for climate resilience efforts, the state says.

“On top of the new rate of 11%, various Hawaii counties add a 3% tax. There is also a combined rate of nearly 5% on goods and services, making a total duty of nearly 19%.”

State Representative Adrian Tam shared his support for the bill at a session on Friday.

“Our residents and communities deserve to be protected,” said Tam.

He added, “As we continue to invite visitors to Hawaii to share the beauty of this land, this bill is a huge step in ensuring adequate funding is set aside to steward and protect our delicate ecosystems for visitors, our constituents and communities for generations to come.”

Tesla doxxing attacks wrongly target nonowners across America

0

The recent surge of attacks on Tesla owners, dealerships and charging stations has morphed into a broader campaign of intimidation, fueled by weaponized personal data. But the fallout isn’t limited to Tesla owners alone.

Sites like “Dogequest” have published names, addresses and phone numbers supposedly belonging to Tesla owners, yet many victims never owned a Tesla or sold theirs years ago. Some were misidentified due to errors in public records or outdated databases, turning ordinary people into targets for harassment and threats. The site’s operators have even demanded proof of sale from anyone seeking removal, putting the burden on innocent people to clear their names.

As the DOJ and FBI label these attacks as domestic terrorism and ramp up investigations, the chilling reality is that anyone, even those only suspected of owning a Tesla, can find themselves exposed and at risk.

Tesla doxxing attacks wrongly target nonowners across America

A Tesla supercharger (Kurt “CyberGuy” Knutsson)

How innocent people get caught in the crossfire

On March 18, 2025, a hacker group launched “Dogequest,” a website featuring a searchable map of supposed Tesla owners and employees. The site didn’t just list dealerships and charging stations; it exposed names, home addresses, phone numbers and emails, sometimes even in real time. The twist? Many of the people listed never owned a Tesla at all.

The data fueling this attack came from public vehicle registration records and third-party databases, notorious for their inaccuracies. Some victims had sold their Teslas years ago. Others were never owners, just mistakenly linked by a typo, a recycled phone number or a database error. Yet they found themselves on a digital hit list, with their privacy and safety at risk.

The real-world consequences

This isn’t just an online problem. Firebombings at showrooms, bullets through dealership windows and threats to families have all been linked to these doxxing campaigns. Law enforcement, including the DOJ, now calls it domestic terrorism. And because the data is so often wrong, anyone could be next, regardless of whether you’ve ever set foot in a Tesla.

Tesla doxxing attacks wrongly target nonowners across America

“Doxxing” affecting Tesla and non-Tesla owners alike (Kurt “CyberGuy” Knutsson)

Why misidentification matters to everyone

If you think you’re safe because you don’t own a Tesla, think again. The same flawed data sources that misidentified Tesla owners exist for countless other products, memberships and affiliations. Today, it’s electric cars; tomorrow, it could be political donors, healthcare workers or anyone else whose data is bought and sold.

HERTZ DATA BREACH EXPOSES CUSTOMER INFORMATION

What you can do to protect yourself now

Whether your personal data was exposed in a breach, leaked by someone with inside access or scraped from people-finder sites, you’re at risk, not just if you own a Tesla, but even if you’re misidentified. Here’s how to reduce your exposure and protect yourself from becoming the next target of a doxxing attack.

Breaches and leaks

To help prevent your data from ending up in a breach or leak:

  • Limit what data companies have on you in the first place. Fill in only the required fields, use email aliases and burner or VoIP numbers where possible, and use a P.O. Box in place of a street address. Provide fake details where it’s practical and legal to do so.
  • Delete accounts you no longer need. That online shopping account you used once five years ago? All that personal information is still sitting there, just waiting to be breached or leaked. Look for options like “delete my data” and “delete data and close account” rather than just “close account.”

People finder sites and why you need a data removal service

Also known as people-search sites, these data brokers profit by compiling detailed personal profiles that are fully searchable and available to anyone for a small fee. They’re among the most dangerous sources of exposed personal information online. Fortunately, they’re also some of the easiest to tackle, especially with the help of a personal data removal service.

These services send legally binding opt-out requests to people-search sites and other data brokers on your behalf, ensuring your information is taken down. Some services, like our No. 1 pick, even offer custom removal options, where privacy professionals handle complex cases that go beyond automated systems.

While no service can guarantee complete data erasure from the internet, using a trusted removal service is a smart way to automate and maintain ongoing protection from hundreds of data-hungry sites over time.

Additional critical digital defenses to implement

While removing your data from brokers and minimizing online footprints are essential first steps, true safety in this new era of weaponized information also requires securing our digital infrastructure against both physical and virtual threats. Here are a few steps you can take to protect your data.

Use two-factor authentication: Protect your vehicle’s account and associated emails with authenticator apps rather than SMS, which is vulnerable to SIM-swapping attacks.

Use a VPN: Mask your IP address when accessing your vehicle’s apps on public Wi-Fi to prevent location tracking and man-in-the-middle attacks. VPNs will protect you from those who want to track and identify your potential location. For the best VPN software, see my expert review of the best VPNs for browsing the web privately on your Windows, Mac, Android and iOS devices.

Cabin cam caution: Disable Cabin Camera Recording under Data Sharing unless essential. While Tesla claims footage isn’t linked to identities by default, third-party app vulnerabilities could expose this data. Newer Teslas process cabin cam footage locally, but legacy models may still use cloud backups, so check your software version.

Report doxxing or cyber harassment: If you’ve been doxxed or targeted online, don’t wait to take action. Report it to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), ic3.gov, or to local law enforcement, as many states have laws addressing doxxing, stalking and cyber harassment. File a police report with documented evidence (screenshots, URLs, timestamps). Also, for account-specific threats, contact Tesla customer service directly to report suspicious activity and secure your account.

Kurt’s key takeaways

The reality is unsettling but not hopeless, and while the threats of our hyper-connected world can feel overwhelming, you don’t have to just hope you won’t be targeted. You can take control by arming yourself with knowledge, using the right tools, building smart habits like checking your digital footprint, using removal tools and staying alert to new threats because the attackers are organized, and it’s time we are, too.

Minnesota farmer unearths 3.81-carat brown diamond at Crater of Diamonds State Park

0

An amateur rock collector recently hit the jackpot while exploring a state park in Arkansas.

David DeCook, a Minnesota resident, unearthed a stunning 3.81-carat brown diamond at the Crater of Diamonds State Park on April 21.

The diamond is the largest that has been found in the park in 2025 so far, according to Arkansas State Parks.

In a press release, the government organization said that DeCook was on a family trip to the park when he found the gem.

“DeCook calmly walked over to where he had seen the diamond, picked it up and inspected it before calling to his brother,” the press release noted. “Stirring up some natural sibling rivalry, David told Derek, ‘”Oh, you’re going to be mad once you see what I found!’”

The Minnesota resident returned to the park a few days later to register the diamond.

DeCook decided to name his discovery “the Duke Diamond” after his dog.

“You just never know what you’re gonna find. It’s a chance of a lifetime.”

DeCook identified himself as a farmer to FOX 9 Minneapolis and told the outlet that the diamond “kind of looks like a candy wrapper.”

New York City, get ready for a potentially game-changing transportation option.

Archer Aviation, partnering with United Airlines, is planning to launch an air taxi service that could really shake up how you get around.

Forget the idea of flying cars. This is about creating a practical, efficient and eco-friendlier way to skip the city’s notorious traffic jams and reach your destination faster.

How the air taxi service will work

Archer and United’s plan revolves around utilizing existing helipads at East 34th Street, West 30th Street and lower Manhattan to launch Archer’s all-electric Midnight aircraft, which has space for four passengers and a pilot.

From there, passengers would be whisked away to major airports like JFK, LaGuardia and Newark, as well as regional airports like Westchester County, Teterboro and Republic. The idea is that passengers would book these air taxi trips as an “add-on” to their existing flights, creating a seamless travel experience.

While the exact pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, it’s worth noting that a one-way helicopter ride from Manhattan to JFK on Blade typically costs around $265 per seat. As for when you can expect to hop on an Archer air taxi in NYC, that’s still up in the air, but Archer has stated its aircraft will make its commercial debut in Los Angeles for the 2028 Olympics.

EVTOL PROTOTYPE PROMISES 150 MPH CITY-TO-CITY HOPS

The technology behind Archer’s Midnight aircraft

So, what makes Midnight so special? For starters, it’s all-electric, with a range of up to 100 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph. Midnight is designed to take off and land vertically like a helicopter but then transition into forward flight like a plane.

The aircraft is designed with 12 engines and propellers, providing redundancy for safety and aiming to match commercial airliner standards. With less noise and no emissions compared to traditional helicopters, Midnight is a quieter and greener alternative for urban air mobility.

Infrastructure and partnerships

To make this vision a reality, Archer plans to use preexisting aviation infrastructure, working with partners like Atlantic Aviation, Signature Aviation and Skyports/GroupeADP to develop and electrify vertiports at airports and helipads across the region. It’s also collaborating with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the New York City Economic Development Corporation to ensure the service integrates smoothly into the city’s existing transportation network.

ARE THESE AUTONOMOUS TRANSPORT PODS THE FUTURE OF SKY-HIGH COMMUTING?

What’s next?

Before you can book your first Archer air taxi, Midnight needs to obtain type certification from the FAA, which means the aircraft meets all the design and safety standards. The company has previously received Parts 135 and 145 certification for on-demand services and specialized repair.

A race to the skies

Archer isn’t the only player in the air taxi game. Companies like Joby Aviation, Volocopter and Beta Technologies are also developing eVTOL air taxi networks. However, not everyone has found success. German company Lilium recently faced financial difficulties. Archer is setting itself apart with major orders and partnerships, including a $1 billion order from United Airlines and a $500 million deal with a Japan Airlines joint venture.

Kurt’s key takeaways

So, what does this all mean for New York? Archer and United’s air taxi plan is still in the early stages, but the potential is definitely there to really shake up how we think about getting around the city. If they can pull it off, those dreaded commutes could become a thing of the past, replaced by quick, emissions-free flights above the gridlock.
