Organization Recognized for Transformative Efforts in Haitian Healthcare
HAITI, November 22, 2023 – In recognition of its dedication to advancing healthcare in Haiti, Haiti Air Ambulance was honored with the prestigious Haiti Impact Award at the inaugural HAS Global Awards on November 11th, 2023. The event, hosted by Hôpital Albert Schweitzer Haiti, took place at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers, New York, with notable guests Anderson Cooper and Senator Chuck Schumer in attendance.
The Haiti Impact Award recognizes organizations that have made a significant impact on Haiti’s healthcare sector, contributing to positive change and uplifting the Haitian community. Anderson Cooper presented the award to Haiti Air Ambulance, acknowledging the organization’s unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare and providing critical medical services in Haiti’s challenging conditions.
Since 2014, Haiti Air Ambulance has played a pivotal role in bridging gaps, delivering essential medical services, and providing emergency response relief and healthcare training in the nation of Haiti. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Haiti Air Ambulance is the only helicopter air ambulance service dedicated to serving the 11.5 million people of Haiti. HAA flies critically ill or injured patients 365 days a year to emergency medical care providers regardless of ability to pay.
The HAS Global Awards ceremony serves as a platform to appreciate and acknowledge individuals and organizations championing Haiti’s cause and creating a positive impact on a global scale.
