HAITI, October 11, 2023 – Haiti Air Ambulance (HAA) is proud to announce the launch of its Basic Life Support (BLS) training course, a vital initiative aimed at equipping local Haitians with the skills needed to save lives in emergency situations.
In a country where unforeseen emergencies such as natural disasters can have dire consequences, having the ability to respond effectively can make all the difference. HAA’s BLS training course covers a wide range of essential skills, enabling participants to act confidently and decisively when faced with critical situations.
BLS training course participants learn crucial techniques, including CPR for all age groups according to the American Heart Association (AHA) Chain of Survival. They master the early use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), effective ventilations with barrier devices, and the vital dynamics of teamwork during multi-rescuer resuscitation scenarios. In addition, the program covers techniques for relieving foreign-body airway obstruction in both adults and infants.
By providing accessible and practical BLS training, Haiti Air Ambulance seeks to create a network of community responders who can bridge the gap between emergencies and professional medical assistance. This program emphasizes that anyone, regardless of their background or profession, can become a real-life hero by knowing how to respond in emergencies.
